Why is ViewRanger asking me to connect my account with Outdooractive?
ViewRanger is merging with Outdooractive to create one amazing platform, giving you the best of the two apps. To join us on this adventure and enjoy the exciting benefits, all you have to do is connect your ViewRanger account with Outdooractive.
What will happen if I don’t connect my ViewRanger account with Outdooractive?
You will still be able to use the ViewRanger. We will continue to support the ViewRanger app. But all the new features will only be added to the Outdooractive platform - so it is recommended to move over to Outdooractive.
What should I do if I don’t remember my ViewRanger login/password or registration method?
You can restore your password here. If you can't remember your username, please check the account settings on your ViewRanger mobile app (Menu tab, My Account). If you still continue to have issues, contact our support at email@example.com.
How do I connect my ViewRanger Account with Outdooractive?
On the device that has ViewRanger already installed, check the ViewRanger app is up to date in the app store. Then download the Outdooractive app from the app store, open the Outdooractive app and tap "My page" (head and shoulders lower right), tap "Sign in", tap "Activate with ViewRanger Profile" button.
How long do I have to decide if I wish to move to OA?
We encourage you to connect your account as soon as possible as you will get to be one of the first to enjoy the brand new features and all the benefits of the combined platform. Those who connect their accounts early, will also get special offers from Outdooractive. There is no current deadline for connecting your account.
What will happen with the ViewRanger app? It is going away?
We will continue supporting ViewRanger app but all the new features will only be added to the Outdooractive platform. So it is recommended to move over to Outdooractive.
Will all ViewRanger features be available in the Outdooractive app?
Many ViewRanger features are already available in Outdooractive. We will continue adding more and eventually all major ViewRanger technology will be moved to Outdooractive.

Will I be able to use my Apple Watch, Wear OS Watch or Casio PRO Trek Watch with the Outdooractive app?
We are currently developing this functionality in Outdooractive app. It will be available soon.
Are you compliant with GDPR rules?
Your ViewRanger account contains "Email and Push Notification Settings" to control how we communicate with you. These rules will transfer to Outdooractive.

Where will my ViewRanger data be after I merge with Outdooractive? How will Outdooractive use it?
Your data is secure and remains the same as it always has. ViewRanger and Outdooractive have merged under one organisation. It will exist in both Outdooractive and ViewRanger, so you won't lose a thing. It will be used based on the preferences set on your account profile, as before.
Can I modify my data in ViewRanger once I have connected the account with Outdooractive?
Yes! Changes made in ViewRanger will be automatically pushed to Outdooractive but not the other way around.
What if I don’t want to transfer my data to Outdooractive?
There is no obligation to connect your ViewRanger account to Outdooractive. You can continue to use ViewRanger. However, you might be missing out on new features and benefits of the combined platform. You may also miss special introductory offers.

What will happen to my ViewRanger PREMIUM/PREMIUM+ subscription if I merge my ViewRanger account with Outdooractive?
Your ViewRanger subscription will remain valid after you connect your account with Outdooractive. Renew or cancel it before expiration date, as you wish. Upon connecting your account, look for special offers from Outdooractive for ViewRanger explorers.
What happens to my ViewRanger subscription if I don’t merge my ViewRanger account with Outdooractive?
Your ViewRanger subscription will remain valid if you do not connect your account with Outdooractive. Renew or cancel before expiration date, as you wish.
Will my lifetime maps be available in the Outdooractive app?
No. You can continue to use your lifetime maps in ViewRanger. ViewRanger users who own lifetime maps will receive a gift from Outdooractive, so be sure to check your email and Outdooractive app My Page.
Will I end up paying for 2 subscriptions - ViewRanger and Outdooractive?
Only if you decide to continue to use the ViewRanger PREMIUM/PREMIUM+Maps and also wish to sign up to the Outdooractive PRO or PRO+ subscription after the free period expires. You can always use free version of ViewRanger and stay on Basic subscription of Outdooractive.
Will my credits be available in the Outdooractive app?
No. You can continue to use your credits in ViewRanger.
Will my ViewRanger subscription be available the Outdooractive app?
Once you have connected your account, dependent on your ViewRanger purchase history, you will be offered a PRO or PRO+ subscription for free, for a minimum period of 3 months. Check your email or for banner in-app to redeem.
What subscriptions types are available in Outdooractive?
There are 3 types of subscriptions in Outdooractive: Basic, PRO and PRO+. You can find out more about the Outdooractive subscriptions here.
What maps are available in Outdooractive PRO and PRO+ subscriptions?
All Outdooractive users have access to global outdoor map from OpenStreetMap for summer & winter use. PRO users have additional access to official country topo maps (OS maps, IGN, Swisstopo, etc). PRO+ users have additional access to specialized maps; Alpine clubs and KOMPASS maps.
Will my PREMIUM features (Skyline, BuddyBeacon, Unlimited Tracks with Photos, 3D flyover map, AutoPlot, Unlimited Offline maps) be available in the Outdooractive app?
Skyline, 3D flyover maps, (and the ability to add unlimited amounts of photos to tracks) are already available in Outdooractive. We are working on adding the rest of the PREMIUM features to Outdooractive. They will be available soon. Make sure to be opted-in to Outdooractive emails to get notified when new features are added to the system.
What incentive should I look out for from Outdooractive as an existing ViewRanger user?
Once you have connected your account, dependent on your ViewRanger purchase history, you will be offered a PRO or PRO+ subscription, for free, for a minimum period of 3 months. Non-spenders will be offered a discount on a Outdooractive subscription. Check your email or banner in-app to redeem.
Any gifted Outdooractive subscription will not automatically renew.
What Topo maps are in Outdooractive?

Will my routes, tracks, and POIs be available in the Outdooractive app?
Yes, upon connecting your ViewRanger account to Outdooractive, all your data will be automatically transferred to Outdooractive.
Will I be able to sell routes in the Outdooractive app?
Unfortunately, the ability to sell routes doesn't exist in Outdooractive. You can continue to sell in ViewRanger.

How do I swap to my premium Topo maps (such as GB Ordance Survey) in the Outdooractive app?
On the map tab, press the layers button (in lower right) and tap Topo.
Where is the map list in Outdooractive map?
There is no map list! On the map tab, press the layers button (in lower right) and tap Topo. Move the map to the location you wish to view.
